Back to School Challenge
It's been about a month since I last challenged myself (giving up dairy = success!), so it's probably about time I did something else to completely bugger my routine. And boy is it a good one!
Today is the first day of an 8 week, vegan fitness challenge I'm partaking in thanks to Katie Gurden of Positive Difference Personal Training.
So not only am I now attempting to do 8 weeks of actual veganism, but also with an accompanying daily exercise regime. I have barely moved off my sofa in the last 5 years, so this morning after a weekend of very heavy indulgence, massive homemade roast dinner, extended partying and with friends still sleeping over in our spare room and on the sofa, I got up and did some bloody interval training and have so far consumed just a glass of homemade smoothie. It's not normal, I tell you.
I also received my first bag of cacao powder today. It's odd but since giving up dairy and despite not eating chocolate bars often, I am really missing being able to just go and pick up a bag of peanut M&M's or something, so I'm looking forward to training myself to love this instead. I'm slightly dubious, as I've eaten cacao chips before and was not too enamoured, in fact I spat them out, but I'm sure once combined with other things, it'll improve the er...overall...er...everything. I will find a way, you mark my words.
No "proper" recipes to report really as yet, as all I've had is blended fruit so far and I haven't been too strict with my weighing of stuff for that, but I'm pretty sure this is a good start.
If you're interested, here's my post-workout smoothie.
