A Return to Shampan at the Spinning Wheel

I'm not going to say much about this one, as you can find my very recent review here, but after reading it my mother decided that this was where she wanted to go for her birthday dinner.

And go we did!

Because it's sooo pretty and soooo tasty, I thought I'd share some of the dishes we had at the table for mum's day that we didn't see in my last write up.

Yes, it is still bloody delicious and I definitely still recommend visiting.

I had the sea bream and it was gorgeous, the venison was also highly praised.

We were very kindly treated to a taste of the lamb rogan josh from the take away menu and the bowls went back to the kitchen most definitely empty and possibly missing some of the enamel.

It really is really good food.

Grilled fresh water king prawns with smoked garlic and dill leaves

Chargrilled free range chicken with cracked fennel & cardamom

Grilled duck breast with Goan curry sauce and cumin mashed potatoes

South Indian style Mey Valley beef with carrot, beans & coconut

Pan seared sea bream with lentil bhaat chilli and coriander relish

Clove smoked saddle of venison with Jodhpuri spices & crisp okra
